What Money Can Not Buy

For money you can have
everything it is said.
No, that is not true.
You can buy food, but not appetite;
medicine, but not health;
soft beds, but not sleep;
knowledge but not intelligence;
glitter, but not comfort;
fun, but not joy;
acquaintances, but not friendship;
servants, but not faithfulness;
grey hair, but not honor;
quiet days, but not peace.
For money you can have the husk of all things,
But not the kernel.
That cannot be had for money.
Arne Garborg, Norwegian Writer (1851-1924)
Profound Truth in simple words! A great reson to remember to Pay It Forward with something Worthwhile…to edify and not destroy. Laugh. Live. Love…Choose wisely how you spend “your dash”*, dear friends. It is your legacy.

You can buy a book of jokes but, not a sense of humor.
Your post is delightful!It points out how we must focus on the essence of Life rather than its external trimmings.
